iPad Pro 2 release date: Apple to release three variants in 2017?

The current iPad Pro in the marketApple

The iPad Pro was released back in September 2015, and it was previously rumored that its successor, the iPad Pro 2, may launch this year alongside the iPhone 7. That did not become a reality, and new rumors suggest that the iPad Pro 2 may launch in early 2017. It may also come in three different variants.

According to MacWorld, the iPad Pro 2 may have a 9.7-inch version, a 10.5-inch version, and a 12.9-inch version. However, some fans speculate that the small 9.7-inch may be rebranded as the iPad Mini Pro, and it may replace the iPad Mini 5.

The report further explains that the iPad Pro lineup is likely to launch in March 2017. It is a month of the year when Apple releases some of their secondary products like the iPhone SE. This would make it a very likely window for the iPad Pro 2 to officially be unveiled. If it is showcased in March, it may become available in the same month or by early April.

Regarding its special features, the iPad Pro 2 is rumored to be running on iOS 10 right out of the box, and it may feature the A10X processor. This will be the case for both the 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch versions. The 9.7-inch variant is speculated to come with the A9X processor instead.

All three iPad Pro 2 models are also rumored to come with the Apple Pen. This will make the tablet more convenient for graphic artists and for educational purposes.

They are also rumored to ditch the 16 GB base model and start with a 32 GB model, although this is yet to be confirmed by Apple. There are also rumors that the iPad Pro 2 will support 4K video recording. Regarding the iPad Pro 2's camera, it is stated that the variants will all come with a 12-MP rear camera and a 5-MP front-facing camera, which is now a standard for many Apple products.
