After Apple Inc. released the iPad Pro last week, consumers are wondering if they should shift from using the PC if the new large screen tablet can already do its job.

During the product launch of the device earlier in November, Apple CEO Tim Cook claimed that the new iPad Pro can be a good alternative for PCs or laptops that are currently available on the market. "Yes, the iPad Pro is a replacement for a notebook or a desktop for many, many people. They will start using it and conclude they no longer need to use anything else, other than their phones," Cook explained in an interview with Telegraph UK.

He also stated that if consumers believe that the features of the iPad Pro is the same as PC, then they should not consider buying a PC anymore.

The iPad Pro comes with a 12.9-inch screen, which is bigger than all of the previous iPad models that came out in the market. It is also equipped with the latest A9x processor, which is 1.8 times faster than its predecessor.

The iPad Pro also has an 8-MP rear-facing primary camera with a 1.2-MP ront-facing secondary shooter than can be used for video calls and FaceTime, and offers options for a 32-GB or 128-GB internal memory.

But despite all these specs, Dell CEO Michael Dell claimed that PC is still significant despite Cook's claims.

In a separate interview with Telegraph UK, Dell explained that PC sales continue to grow despite the onset of mobile gadgets in the market. "The post-PC era has been great for the PC. When the post-PC era started there were about 180 [million] PCs being sold a year and now it's up to over 300 [million], so I like the post-PC era," the Dell CEO explained.

While the iPad Pro appears to offer better productivity compared to its predecessors, it is still hard to determine whether it can surpass the popularity that the PC has been enjoying for the past decades.
