Many Apple fanatics are expecting several new products to be revealed during the "Let us loop you in" event, which is set to happen on Monday, March 21, at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST). One of the anticipated products is the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, the smaller brother of the 12-inch iPad Pro.

There are many speculations surrounding the smaller iPad Pro. For one, Apple is said to be trimming down its iPad and MacBook product line and the previous iPad Air series will be discontinued. The upcoming iPad Pro is the said replacement.

Also, it is said that a few features of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be integrated into the smaller model, such as the quad-speaker system, an A9X chip, a Smart Connector and a flash for the rear camera. The camera is also said to be carrying a higher megapixel capacity for better picture quality.

9To5Mac reported previously that a purported 9.7-inch iPad Pro case image got leaked out and contains cutouts for the Smart Connector and LED flash.

Since the rumored smaller iPad Pro will have similar specs as its bigger sibling, it is also speculated that a smaller Smart Keyboard will be unveiled during the tablet's introduction. Hence, the Apple Pencil is likely to also be supported.

Speaking of the Apple Pencil, an iPad drawing app for the iPad Pro called Astropad Graphics Tablet recently rolled out an update and stated in its notes that the latest version will work with iPads for 2016.

"Apple pencil support for new iPads (Spring 2016)," the notes say, as quoted by Apple Insider.

The Apple Pencil works only on the current iPad Pro and it was released November of last year.

The "Let us loop you in" event is also said to be featuring the 4-inch iPhone SE and new Apple Watch accessories. On the software side, many are also looking forward to iOS 9.3, OS X 10.11.4, watchOS 2.2 and tvOS 9.2.

The event will take place at 1 Infinite Loop on Apple's campus in Cupertino.
