Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C prices plummet as iPhone 6 release date nears

iPhone 6's release date is happening next week and carriers and retailers dropped the prices of the iPhone 5S.

This time is the perfect time to buy the current iPhone 5S and 5C as the handsets are being offered at marked down prices. U.S. Carriers, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile both offer big discounts on the current iPhones.

T-Mobile slashed $48 off both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. Thus, buyers can buy the 16GB iPhone 5S for $600 in comparison to the original $648 without a binding contract. The iPhone 5C is available for $499 without the contract.

Verizon Wireless, on the other hand, offers the 64GB iPhone 5S for 50% off, which allows buyers to get hold of the smartphone for $199 with a two-year contract. The 16GB model of the iPhone 5S is available for $99 with a two-year contact. Meanwhile, the iPhone 5C is now available for $49 with a contract. Buyers can also grab the iPhone 4S for free with a contract.

This is not the first time buyers have enjoyed discounts on the iPhone 5S and 5C. They are perfect for consumers who are not looking forward to the release of the new iPhone.

According to rumors, the iPhone 6 will be available in two variants – one with a 4.7 inch screen panel that is set to arrive next month, the other variant is set to pack a 5.5 inch screen display and is reported to arrive in October. Some of the other rumored features of the iPhone 6 are a 64-bit A8 processor, a iOS 8, as well as an improved fingerprint sensor and a camera.

The iPhone 6 will be released alongside iWatch, which is Apple's take on smartwatch category, which will rival the existing wearable devices from other tech companies such as Samsung and LG. Apple's smartwatch may offer more functions and capabilities compared to its rivals.
