Apple proudly announced the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in an elaborate launching event in California last month where it boasted some of the new specs and features of the latest members of the iPhone line.

The new handset took everyone by surprise, especially with the sudden increase on the size of the phones' screen panel. The smartphones also offer a slew of top-of-the-line features in both the hardware and software departments. The iPhone 6s come with an A8 chipset, iOS 8, Apple Pay, improved camera, Siri and Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and a whole lot more.

Amidst the amazement and wonder, some tech reviewers noticed the thin profile of the new iPhones and decided to put them to the test. Through a strength test, they found out that the new smartphones are pretty malleable and easy to bend. Hence, the viral hashtag #Bendgate was sprawled all over the Internet.

The whole ruckus started when some users flooded the social media of photos and complaints that the new iPhone 6 can be easily bent. Some users claimed that they sat with the new smartphones in their back pockets, then the phones took the shape of their rear ends.

The smartphones are thinner than its predecessors which could be one contributing factor, but the problem can be attributed to the anodized aluminum frame. The anodizing makes the case more durable but the aluminum is a soft metal, which is easily bent.

Apple Is Mad

German tech news media, Computer Bild, posted a video on YouTube showing an iPhone 6 being subjected to a strength test to see with their own eyes whether the videos and memes making fun of iPhone 6 is true.

Based on the video, it did not take much effort or pressure to bend the new iPhone. The video garnered over 400,000 views now. Just then, Apple reportedly got in touch with the publication and allegedly told the company that Apple will no longer give products for review. Moreover, their credentials have been revoked to attend and cover Apple events.
