iPhone 6 release date coming as Costco offers iPhone 5S for just $98

As fans await the release of the iPhone 6, Apple's current iPhone 5S smartphones are being offered for as low as $98 in Costco.

Retailer Cotsco is selling the iPhone 5S units for a steal. The discounted Apple smartphones are available in Costco's online and physical stores.

The discounted iPhone 5S only costs $98 but comes with a two-year contract from AT&T or Verizon Wireless. This is $100 off the iPhone's original price.

The biggest deal is with the iPhone 5S, which can be purchased for only $78. Prior to the discount, the flagship smartphone carries a price tag of $199. Of course, the deal is pegged to a carrier. Consumers can choose from Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Meanwhile, iPhone 6 is reported to arrive on September 30, according to a listing in Amazon Japan. The post immediately went viral and sparked rumors that the next flagship smartphone of Apple will be available on the said date. The post was taken down but tech web sites were quick to grab a screen shot.

Moreover, iPhone 6 packs a 4.7-inch screen display and will ship with iOS 8. These are all predicted since these are included in the rumors circulating for quite some time.

iPhone 6 is rumored to come in two variants. One model will sport a 4.7 inch screen panel and the other has 5.5 inch screen display. There were talks that the 5.5 inch variant of iPhone 6 will be available a few months after the release of the 4.7 inch model. The smaller version of iPhone 6 is rumored to be released in its usual launch window in September and the 5.5 inch phablet is rumored to be launched in October.

The new Apple flagship phone was predicted to pack the next-gen 64-bit A8 processor, iOS 8, as well as improved fingerprint sensor and camera. However, the Cupertino-based company has not revealed the official specs and features of its flagship phone.
