It has been reported that South Korean giant Samsung Electronics and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TSMC) have now began working on the latest A9 processor for Apple iPhone 6S. According to Taiwanese news site Digitimes, Apple decided to make changes to the chip layout before it unveils the iPhone 6S handset this September.

The reports also say that the changes won't affect the expected release date of the new phone.

Mac Rumors reports that TSMC will start producing the A9 processors sometime before the end of the year. It will also produce new fingerprint scanners alongside audio chips for Apple's next iPhone devices.

"Just before production kicked off, Apple requested modifications to the mask patterns prompting both contract chipmakers to rework wafers," said the sources cited by Digitimes. "Nevertheless, the event should not interrupt the new iPhone launch schedule."

In addition, Apple Insider reports that around 80 million new iPhone devices are expected to begin shipping before the end of this year.

Also, BGR reports that a new rumor has recently emerged claiming Apple might be planning to launch the iPhone 6S with at least 32GB internal memory storage, along with two other models, a 64GB and a maximum 128GB option. The report says the new rumor comes from Chinese website M.I.G Gadget.

BGR added that no images have been leaked along with the rumor, and that there is no confirmation yet to back up the claim.

On the other hand, Apple Insider has reported that new images of Apple's iPhone 6S Plus have been leaked by Future Supplier. The new images show the gold-colored case of iPhone 6S Plus on the back. On top of this, the report adds that the iPhone 6S Plus apparently comes with a stronger material than its predecessor, the iPhone 6 Plus.
