iPhone 6S release date and specs rumors: New concept image comes with miniature version

Will Apple release a smaller iPhone 6 model soon?

A new iPhone 6S concept image emerged online with a miniature companion in tow. While the purported iPhone did not reveal much of what is inside, it shows the imagined physical appearance of the smartphone.

The render was created by concept designer Angel Hernandez. Based on the visualization of the iPhone 6S, the smartphone sports a unibody metal casing that is a staple feature of iPhones. The volume buttons and Home button with fingerprint scanner are still in their usual place.

For the other features, the iPhone 6S concept has dual microphones, stereo speakers and Lightning earports support, thus eliminating the audio jack. Moreover, it sports a FaceTime HD camera with F/1.8 aperture and 50 percent more light.

Aside from the regular iPhone, the iPhone 6S Mini also appeared with a 4-inch screen display.

The timing when this iPhone 6S concept image surfaced online is right when reports claimed that the iPhone 7 will be released in 2016, but before that, Apple will allegedly introduce a smartphone with minor updates.

New rumors are going around that the iPhone 7 will be launched next year alongside Apple's iCar. There is a remote possibility that the iPhone 7 will be used to drive the electric car. This is supported by reports that a CarPlay feature will make its way to the iOS and is speculated to enable apps like Maps and Music to be operated via Siri. The new iPhone could also work as the key for the car. A new kit, similar to HealthKit, will be included in the iOS packing speedometer and GPS. Furthermore, it will allegedly have specs and features such as: sapphire screen display, A9 processor, iOS 9, better camera, battery, and fingerprint sensor.

There is no word from Apple about the new iPhone; however, some of the information about the device will reportedly be revealed at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, especially its software features.
