iPhone 7 specs and release date: Apple tests 5 new radical designs for upcoming flagship?

Will the new iPhone 7 finally feature a 3D display screen?Apple

After introducing a bigger iPhone model in 2014, Apple Inc. is now reportedly testing several new designs that will drastically change the look of the American tech firm's next smartphone lines.

A new leaked report spotted by G for Games on Chinese social media website Weibo stated that at least five different models are being experimented by the Cupertino-based tech giant for the iPhone 7.

Some of the rumored design for the upcoming iPhone 7 include:

USB Type-C connector compatible smartphones – While the current iPhone line comes with Apple's exclusive Lightning connector, a new iPhone 7 prototype that bears the USB Type-C is reportedly being tested. This could be a rational move for Apple in unifying its products, since the tech firm is using the new port type on its latest line of MacBook device.

Wireless Charging system – Aside from the rumors about the possible elimination of the 3.55mm headphone jack, Apple is also reportedly testing an iPhone 7 prototype that backs the wireless charging system.

Multi-Touch 3D Touch – Rumors about 3D Touch technology in the upcoming iPhone 7 line was mentioned in the leak, saying that the tech giant is looking to incorporate the multi-finger touch in the next-generation Apple smartphone.

Dual Camera – News about incorporating more than one camera in an iPhone device in the iPhone 6S were reported in the past. Yet the company chose not to introduce the technology in September to further hone its features. Could this mean that the company is now ready to incorporate two cameras on the iPhone 7?

In-Display Fingerprint Recognition technology – This new feature could ultimately remove the home button of the iPhone 7, as well as decrease the size of the large bezels to make it more mobile-friendly.

Apple has yet to reveal the official specs and release date of the iPhone 7.
