The iPhone 7 Plus is rumored to be carrying a dual-camera, and Apple does not want its users to complain about the resource-hogging image processing. It is believed that the upcoming model will contain 3GB of RAM.

According to Apple Insider, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities claims that Apple will be including a dual-lens iSight camera in all its iPhone 7 Plus models. He also mentioned that the 5.5-inch model will contain 3GB of RAM instead of 2GB so that the image processing will go smoothly. Memory plays a big factor in such process.

It was originally believed that the iPhone 7 Plus will have two variants, one with the dual-camera system, and the other with none. It is not clear now if it will still have two variants or will be just a single model.

The report also mentioned that the standard iPhone 7 is rumored to contain 2 GB of RAM, just like its predecessor.

Kuo's latest runs parallel to the other leaked information for the phone. Last week, an image of the cover design surfaced on the Internet and shows an oval-shaped cut-out for its dual-camera system for the iPhone 7 Plus, while a circular camera cut-out is observed for the standard iPhone 7.

The multi-lens system of the camera is expected to produce DSLR-like quality images, for which LinX Imaging developed the technology. Apple purchased the company back in 2015 for US$20 million.

MacRumors reported that the iPhone 7 Plus will have a limited optical zoom because of design constrains. Furthermore, it is believed that the bigger variant will incorporate the Smart Connector, a feature that was first seen on the iPad Pro.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are rumored to be containing the next generation of the company's mobile processor, the A10, said to be manufactured by TSMC. It is not yet clear if the upcoming smartphones will have a 3.5 mm jack or a Lightning port, but it was mentioned to be thinner than the previous models.

There is no official word from Apple concerning the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus but it is expected to be revealed at an Apple keynote event scheduled for September.
