More rumors about the iPhone 7 are coming up online as the speculated September 2016 release date grows nearer.

According to the most recent rumors, the Cupertino-based tech giant will include a dual-camera configuration in the iPhone 7 plus. This is based on a speculation from the usually reliable KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

A research note gathered by MacRumors states Kuo's report saying that the 5.5-inch model of the upcoming iPhone 7 will come out with a dual-camera design and a single iSight rear-facing camera for selfies.

The report mentioned that the two cameras will work together to be able to form a single high-quality image. It could also reportedly allow some sort of optical zoom to let the device capture near objects without losing its image quality.

Kuo noted that Apple could possibly use image algorithms from Israeli camera technology firm LinX Imaging, which the Cupertino-based company purchased in 2015. They include multiple sensors that will work well with smaller sized lenses. They could also make the lenses perform better because of the increased sensitivity to light as well as better image capturing in low light condition.

It is also rumored that Apple could possible get their hardware source from Sony. Both the CCMs of the iPhone 7 Plus will reportedly feature 12-MP compact image sensors (CIS). But the two cameras will have different functions. The first one could possibly support the device's optical image stabilization and give it a wider field of view, while the second camera will come out with a 3x telephoto lens.

Kuo also predicted that Apple could possibly have a supply chain problem because they will only come up with limited dual-camera products, which could possibly mean that the upcoming dual-camera iPhone 7 Plus could be sold at a higher price.
