Even though it could actually still be less than a year away, the iPhone 7 aka Apple's next big thing has become the center of rumor mills in the past weeks. The latest rumor about the most talked about handset is that it will be the thinnest in its line-up to date.

Neurogadget says that reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo foresees that the flagship from Cupertino will be ultra slim and will only be 6 millimeters thin. While looking sleek, the device is promised to pack in more power.

Meanwhile, there's also word that the iPhone 7 will come in three variants. The iPhone 7 Plus variant, as the internet likes to call it, is said to boast a whopping 3-GB RAM. Just like its siblings, the sizeable flagship is expected to be fitted out with the Apple A10 processor for greater performance.

Another variant, as per reports, is an iPhone 7 Mini. The Cupertino-based company is allegedly planning to release a 4-inch model, which is reportedly Apple's solution to those who still find the 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6/6 Plus and 6s/Plus unwieldy.

The Mini version will also serve as the budget-friendly version of the flagship. But unlike the C line-up, the device will have an all-metal body. It won't have the latest in-house processor but it will draw power from an A9 processor, which the current flagship has.

The iPhone 7 is expected to show up earlier than usual. According to a "reliable source" from Apple Insider, fans of the tech firm won't have to wait for September to see Apple's latest. However, the source failed to designate a more specific timeframe as to when the release date could land.

It is worth mentioning that the first four iPhones were released around June and July so it is possible that Apple could be reverting to that schedule.
