The iPhone 7 may end up looking very different from its most recent predecessor.

The recent months have continually produced a plethora of iPhone 7 rumors, and though they touch on numerous aspects of the phone, the central theme to all of them is that they suggest that the upcoming device will feature multiple design changes.

None of the rumored changes may end up being as noticeable as the one predicting the lack of a home button in the iPhone 7. According to Forbes, Apple is supposedly planning to situate the TouchID feature within the actual display and that could render the home button virtually useless.

Apple is also reportedly planning to get rid of the familiar headphone jack with the iPhone 7. In lieu of the conventional headphone jack, the company will reportedly configure the Lightning connector so that it can take over as the primary audio port for users. Whether or not users will take kindly to this supposed change is still unknown, as it could potentially mean more expenses for them aside from the price of the actual iPhone 7.

Interestingly enough, both moves, if proven true, could lead to a drastic reduction in thickness for the iPhone 7, a goal that Apple reportedly has for their new device. 

Apple has also been rumored to be working on other changes that should be more universally accepted.

For example, the iPhone 7 could finally feature waterproof capabilities, according to The Inquisitr. A new shutter system being designed for the iPhone 7 would be the one responsible for giving the phone its water-resistant capabilities, although this change has yet to be confirmed.

Other useful features that people can reportedly look forward to include the introduction of a wireless charging feature and the possible inclusion of a USB Type-C port.
