With the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus still the top Apple phones in the market, some avid Apple customers are already looking forward and speculating on a possible iPhone 6S. There is belief that the next iPhone offering could be revealed later this year though all that remains to be seen.

However, moving forward (or jumping up a notch), could there be an iPhone 7?

Well there are some who believe that it will come but the question is when. And when it does come out, what could possibly make it appealing to Apple loyalists who always set the bar up a notch whenever the vendor comes up with some amazing feature.

As far as the iPhone 7 is concerned, it could be the birth of a new technology, which could curb down on jailbreaks and prevent phones from being unlocked. The technology in mention is the said electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) technology, which would mean that the traditional SIM cards in use these days could soon be obsolete.

Of course such is a rumor that people would initially take lightly. But seeing that it comes from a reliable source (Financial Times and Forbes) then it probably makes a lot of sense.

Apple has not exactly been fond of relying on SIM cards slots and this information does make plenty of sense. The move could draw some violent reactions but it does make life easier for iPhone owners as far as managing their device is concerned.

This includes the pains of having to take out the SIM card and transferring it to another phone and or switching carriers, among others.

The possibilities are really endless and while it does seem like a lot to take in, the thing is that SIM management could be a whole lot easier with the celebrated eSIM technology.

The iPhone 7 is likely to come out in 2017 but it remains to be seen if the new eSIM technology will be included. Word has it that even Samsung is considering it as well so the advancement is pretty much imminent.
