The next big thing is always what people are looking for when it comes to smartphones, and among the biggest brands are Apple and Samsung.

As luck would have it, both Apple's iPhone 7 and Samsung's Galaxy S7 are rumored to be launched next year, and that means the supposed specs and features of the two smartphones have also begun leaking out.

Beginning with what rumored processors the two phones may feature, the iPhone 7 will reportedly have the A10 chipset. However, there has also been chatter recently suggesting that Intel may be involved in the manufacturing of the upcoming device, although it's unclear just how involved they may ultimately be in the process.

Things are different for the Galaxy S7, as the phone is rumored to feature two different sets of processors upon being released, with one variant featuring Qualcomm's brand of Snapdragon chips and the other equipped with Samsung's own line of Exynos offerings. If Samsung moves forward with their rumored plan to feature two different processor setups for the Galaxy S7, it will not be a first for the company, according to Digital Trends.

Both the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 are also supposedly set to receive some drastic changes.

First, the upcoming version of Apple's iPhone line could be the first one in the series to finally be waterproof, according to Expert Reviews UK. Apple has reportedly filed paperwork for the patent that would be needed to introduce such a feature, although the company is staying silent for now.

Samsung's big surprise when it comes to the Galaxy S7 may come in the form of new camera technology. Samsung is reportedly working on developing something known as "Britecell" technology to use for the cameras of the Galaxy S7; unsurprisingly, this too is unconfirmed.

Both the iPhone 7 and the Galaxy S7 are just about guaranteed to make big splashes of their own when both are finally released, especially considering just how much interest they are already getting without even having the benefit of being officially announced.
