Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the iPhone 7 will be released this year, with the former already out months before the latter, given that the iPhone 7 is expected to launch in September. Both will have a similar price range and range of features but a report from Know Your Mobile gives a more in-depth comparison between the two devices.

In regards to their display, the Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a QHD 2560x1440 resolution while the iPhone 7 will have a 5.5-inch QHD 2560x1440 display with built-in Force Touch. The Galaxy S7 Edge will match this as it has a 5.5-inch display. There is also the smaller iPhone 7 which will have a 4.7-inch display.

The Galaxy S7 will start with a unit that has 32GB onboard storage space and it will have full support for a microSD card to further expand the phone's memory. There are rumors of a variety with higher onboard storage but this has yet to be confirmed. The iPhone 7 won't have microSD card support but it will come with a choice of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB onboard storage space.

One area where the Galaxy S7 may have a slightly higher edge is in its processor. Depending on the region where the phone is bought, consumers will get either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or the Samsung Exynos 8890 processor as well as a 4GB RAM.

For the iPhone 7 it will get the brand new A10 processor, which is rumored to be several times faster than the current A9 processor used for the iPhone 6s and 6s Edge, and it will have 3 GB RAM.

Both phones have a 5MP front camera but the iPhone 7 will have wide-angle lens, giving better lighting and image real estate. The iPhone 7's rear camera sports 12MP and supports full 4K video recording. In comparison the Galaxy S7 has a 12.2 MP rear camera.
