Sprint introduces a new plan that ensures every iPhone lover gets the latest model.

According to a Monday news release by the U.S. carrier, the plan called "iPhone Forever" allows customers to upgrade to a new release of iPhone model.

The new plan requires a customer to pay only $22 a month on top of monthly service fees for the existing data plan.

The regular unlimited plan from Sprint is $60 per month; and with the iPhone Forever plan, the customer pays a total of $82 per month.

There's also a special promotion in which customers can go for a discounted plan of $15 per month when they get the iPhone 6 and upgrade before the end of December this year.

On the next upgrade, which will be two years after, the plan price goes back to $22 per month.

In order to be eligible for this plan upgrade, customers just have to turn in their old device, which should be in a working condition.

Those who are already locked in with a different mobile carrier can also opt for the Forever plan and Sprint will even pay off the old phone.

The company has also highlighted that the prices mentioned above will only be applicable to the 16 GB variants.

The announcement of iPhone Forever plan comes after several rumors pointing to a possible launch of a new iPhone in September.

It seems that mobile carriers nowadays are doing away with contracts and turning to upgrade or installment programs instead.

Reports stated that the four major carriers in the United States — Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon — are now adopting the practice.

Sprint claimed that their latest iPhone plan is cheaper than the equivalent plans from its rivals, assuming that customers go for the high-end plans.

As stated in the news release, Sprint's iPhone Forever stands out because it's "forever and less expensive."
