The sales for Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are going strong in the third quarter and with that, rumors are heating up about the release of a new iPhone.

September, the rumored month of the release date, is just months away and everyone's quite excited about iPhone's new face.

But first, what will the device be called? Apple is not clear on what fans should expect from the new phone but according to rumors, the new device will either be called the iPhone 6S or iPhone 7.

In a leaked report from Nowhereelse.fr via Forbes, it was revealed that the new phone will be called iPhone 6S, and leaked images showed that the device will somewhat be comparable to the previous iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which is why it won't be called a 7.

There were also rumors that the new phone will be a 6c. According to The Telegraph, a leaked image surfaced in May and the device looked like an upgraded version of iPhone 5c, with the Touch ID sensor located on the home button.

Meanwhile, the latest rumor on a new iPhone model is that it will not have 16GB storage capacity, but rather a base model that has a 32GB internal storage.

Valuewalk reported that the decision on the storage capacity was to let customers know that the new phone will serve as an excellent storage device, especially that Apple is now active in the music industry.

The same news outlet also stated that according to Taiwan reports, a new phone will be housed in a more durable casing to avoid the embarrassing Bendgate headlines.

September is catching up and it won't be a long wait. Until then, Apple has yet to unveil the new phone, whatever it will be called.

In less than a couple of months, Apple fans will just have to wait and see what the final design will be.
