New iPhone X owners may want to protect their devices by using a case.

Apple's 10^th year anniversary unit looks like it will not live up to some of the stress tests done by different websites. And while iPhone fans may still buy the iPhone X regardless of how it fared, it would be advisable for them to purchase a case.

A drop test done by TechRax showed the iPhone X's back glass cracking only after dropping it once. The second drop on the phone unit with its screen side down was very telling on how durable the unit is as there were visible cracks on its bezel-less display screen.

The drop test done by CNET yielded almost the same results. The glass on the iPhone X is quick to break even from a low point of three feet. However, even though the iPhone was sporting a lot of scratches and cracks, the unit still functioned normally.

Meanwhile, EverythingApplePro did something different with their drop tests. They pitted two of Apple's latest iPhone units, the iPhone X and the iPhone. The first couple of drops done on the two did the expected damage with the iPhone X's stainless steel frame taking on much of the impact. Unfortunately, after the two smart phones were dropped from a higher vantage point, the damage to the units not only became greater but also more evident. In the case of the iPhone 8, it's back was completely shattered, while the iPhone X, although sustaining almost the same amount of damage, was still working fine.

The anniversary unit of Apple will surely have fans buying for the sheer amount of fan love they have for the tech giant, aside from the iPhone X having an almost bezel-less screen display. At the same time, though, they might have to spend more than they already have since they would need to invest on a sturdy phone case and clear screen protector that can withstand impact.
