A new cast member has joined the crew of Marvel-Netflix Series "Iron Fist" season two. Actress Alice Eve will be appearing in the series' second season, although her character on the show is still kept under wraps.

According to Marvel's Head of Television and Executive Producer Jeph Loeb, "We are very excited to have an actress of Alice's stature join the cast of 'Marvel's Iron Fist.' Her exceptional talent brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else."

"We're over the moon that Alice Eve is joining us this season. We think she's going to be a great addition to an already stellar cast," series Showrunner and Executive Producer Raven Metzner added.

Alice Eve was best known for her role in "Star Trek: Into the Darkness," where she played the character, Carol Marcus. She also recently appeared in the third season of "Black Mirror" and will be one of the main stars alongside Dakota Fanning in the upcoming January film, "Please Stand By."

Alice Eve will be joined by the recurring cast members of season one. Finn Jones will reprise his role as the main protagonist Danny Rand a.k.a the Iron Fist, along with Colleen Wing, played by Jessica Hendrick. Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum), Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum), and Sacha Dhawan (Davos) will also be returning to the show.

On other news, the second season of "Iron Fist" will also get a new showrunner. Raven Metzner, who served as the showrunner for "Sleepy Hollow," will be replacing first season showrunner, Scott Buck. Buck left the series due to his commitment to the ABC miniseries, "Inhumans."

"Iron Fist" tells the story of Danny Rand, a multi-billionaire who disappeared for years to train in martial arts in the mysterious city of K'un-Lun before returning to New York to protect the citizens from the dark forces in their city. Rand is chosen to be a living warrior known as the Iron Fist, because of his training and ability to channel his chi into his fists.

There's no official release date for "Iron Fist" season two, but rumours say that the show will be returning to Netflix in 2018.
