It has been more than four years since the last "Iron Man" movie came out, but fans are still hoping for a fourth installment. While Tony Stark/Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. says there will no longer be another movie, the recent "Avengers: Infinity War" trailer seems to have shown otherwise.

Tony Stark is one of the two vital characters that made the transition between one "Avengers" movie to another. What made fans speculate that he will be starring in a new "Iron Man" installment is the fact that the latest official trailer for "Avengers: Infinity War" did not show the usual savagely funny Tony Stark from the previous "Avengers" trailers.

Fans interpreted this absence as a sign that he is actually dealing with something bigger that may be featured in either the future "Avengers 4" movie or maybe even in his own solo "Iron Man 4" movie. This is aside from the obvious fact that the trailer did not show a scene of him almost dying. If they did plan to kill Tony Stark off in the series, they may have at least showed hints of it like with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Vision (Paul Bettany).

With that said, fans, unfortunately, will have to expect some heroes to die. As mentioned, Loki and Vision were seen to be struggling, leading to speculation that they might be the ones who will have to lay down their lives. While there may be others who will do the same, according to Polygon, there are some heroes that fans will know will not die in the movie, including Iron Man and Captain America.

Tony Stark has played one of the biggest roles in the "Avengers" series, not only within in the Marvel world but also for the viewers themselves. In the movies, he became the brains which provided much of the backbone of the "Avengers" themselves. For the fans, he was the perfect comic relief in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies.

For now, nothing else is sure about the characters death and the possibility of an "Iron Man 4." Fans will just have to judge when they watch "Avengers: Infinity War" on May 4, 2018.
