The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) has just given the medical relief organisation Heart to Heart Israel a significant boost in its operations by donating two ambulances.

According to Breaking Israel News, Heart to Heart Israel supports the work of Magen David Adom (MDA), the country's only emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service.

Reverend Franklin Graham, son of legendary American evangelist Billy Graham and CEO of BGEA, hopes their donation would play a significant role in Heart to Heart Israel's mission of saving people's lives.

"These donated ambulances will make a big difference in helping to save lives in Israel – one of the most conflict-ridden areas of the world," he said. "Our prayer is that by providing these ambulances, lives will be changed both physically and spiritually."

The ambulances will be stationed in Israel's northern Galilee and Golan Heights regions. Heart to Heart Israel director Jonathan Feldstein said the MDA serves 8.4 million people in Israel. Given the current crisis they are facing, what with the continuous terror attacks through stabbings and car rammings, the donation made by the BGEA could not be more timely.

"There were now rockets fired into Israel's northern cities from Lebanon, landing just where these ambulances will be working," he said, adding that their organisation does not select its patients, since they serve not just Israeli Christians, but also Jews, Arabs, Druze, and other religious minorities.

"We are eternally grateful to Rev. Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse for their remarkable gift of two ambulances," said Feldstein. "By blessing Israel with this, you help ensure the Scripture of Genesis 12:3 is affirmed. Not just that Israel be blessed, but that through Israel, all the families of the world be blessed."
