The movie adaptation of Stephen King's "IT" was a huge success at the box office. Now, fans are trying to get as much information as they can about its upcoming sequel, which is slated to come out in 2019. While information remains scarce, many are wondering if Pennywise the Clown will return to seek revenge. 

In the film adaptation, fans saw Pennywise retreating, his death uncertain. According to the novel, Pennywise awakens every 27 years before he starts killing and eating again.

The 2017 version of "IT" received better ratings compared to one that came out in 1990, receiving an 85% rating from Rotten Tomatoes, while the earlier version was given a 57%. 

As pointed out by Variety, the 2017 adaptation managed to showcase one of the most distinct elements present in all of King's novels — the struggle of young people. This story element is present in other characters from King's novels like Carrie White in "Carrie" and Jake Chambers in "The Dark Tower."

In an interview with IGN, Bill Skarsgard, the man who brought Pennywise to life, presented some ideas for the sequel that has already been confirmed. Going back to Barker's comment about "IT" focusing on the kids, Skarsgard said it would be amazing for the sequel to give way to adults and focus more on the "psychological aspects of horror."

It took 27 years before the new adaptation to be released after the first "IT" film in 1990. However, both movie experts and fans are confident that it will not take another 27 years for the sequel to hit the theaters. In fact, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema already announced an exact date for the sequel — Sept. 6, 2019. No further details were given about the cast and plot of "IT 2." There are many questions about the chapter two of the movie. The most asked questions include whether the Loser Club will return to finish the job and if another will club step up to finally kill IT.
