Kristen Bell will join the second half of "iZombie" season 2.

The "Veronica Mars" lead star will reunite with series creator Rob Thomas on his latest horror procedural drama. However, the actress's face will not be seen. Bell's voice will be used in episode 12 titled "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter."

The episode, which is scheduled to air on Jan. 26, will show Liv (Rose McIver) solving the murder of a young librarian who died after being poisoned. The librarian also happened to be an underground erotic fiction writer.

There has been no confirmation if the role of the librarian will be portrayed by Bell.

This is not the first time that the actress lent her voice for a TV or movie character. Bell used to narrate "Veronica Mars" as well as "Gossip Girl." She was also the voice actress who portrayed the role of Anna in Disney's "Frozen."

The series creator seem to be keen on bringing his former "Veronica Mars" cast members in his latest project for The CW. Ryan Hansen, Percy Daggs III, David Starzyk, Adam Rose, and Daran Norris appeared on "iZombie" in different cameo roles.

Thomas also enjoys including several easter eggs that give a nod to his iconic teen TV series.

In an interview with E! News, the series creator admitted that he loves making "Veronica Mars" references on "iZombie."

"We had a 'Help me, Zombie Wan Kenobi' line that none of us remembered being in Veronica Mars, but there is a 'Help me, Mars Wan Kenobi' that somehow made it through," Thomas explained. "So I saw all these tweets like, 'Hey, what a great shout out!' Honestly it was just us screwing up and forgetting we already used that joke."

Meanwhile, the official episode synopsis for the upcoming midseason premiere of "iZombie" season 2 titled "Method Head" has been released. It reads:

"Liv is crushed to discover that the lead actor on her favorite show, "Zombie High" has been murdered on set. Meanwhile, Vaughn (guest star Steven Weber) tests Major's (Robert Buckley) loyalty, and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) delivers bad news. Lastly, Blaine (David Anders) receives an unexpected visitor."

"iZombie" season 2 returns on The CW on January 12.
