The Internet has a strange way of attempting to kill off celebrities. However, martial arts superstar actor Jackie Chan has come out fighting, smashing Internet viral rumors that he had died, and reassuring fans that he was "very much alive."

It has been over a month since rumors of Jackie Chan's "death" started to swirl online, shocking thousands of his fans around the world.

The 59-year-old had then reassured his fans on Facebook to say that he was alive. "…Everybody called me to see if I was alive..If I died, I would probably tell the world! I took a photo with today's date, just in case you don't believe me! However, thank you all for your concern."

However, after a month, fans are still checking to confirm that the rumor is indeed a hoax.

This is not the first time the Internet tried to kill off Chan. The "Rush Hour" star was a victim of another death hoax in 2011, when a Facebook page called "Jackie Chan R.I.P 08/17/2011" was created saying that the actor had died from a heart attack.

Last year in September, another Facebook hoax claimed that Morgan Freeman had died. The so-called death of Morgan Freeman went viral on the internet and fooled a lot of fans, as millions took to the web to check that he was still alive. Hundreds of thousands of fans liked the Facebook memorial page dedicated to Morgan Freeman. The rumors were so persistent that his representative had to send out a message saying that he was alive.

Freeman stated on his Facebook: "Like Mark Twain, I keep reading that I have died. I hope those stories are not true…but if they are, I'm happy to report that my afterlife seems identical to my life when I was alive."
