'Jane the Virgin' season 2 plot spoilers, release date: The CW to air series alongside new comedy

Gina Rodriguez as Jane Villanueva in "Jane the Virgin"Facebook

The sophomore season of "Jane the Virgin" is slated to premiere one week earlier than the original plan, which means that fans of the show will finally learn who will win Jane Villanueva's (Gina Rodriguez) hand in marriage.

The CW opted to air the premiere episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 2 on Oct. 12, right after the premiere episode of the network's new comedy show "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" starring Rachel Bloom. The award-winning comedy-drama was initially planned to be released on Oct. 19.

The first season of the series dealt with Jane's unexpected pregnancy with the child of her former boss Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) after a doctor accidentally conducted an artificial insemination procedure on her during one of her check-ups. Her life was changed drastically because of the pregnancy, especially since she and her long-time boyfriend Michael Cordero Jr. (Brett Dier) were planning to get married.

Both Rafael and Michael are willing to start a family with Jane, and the birth of her son Mateo Gloriano Rogelio seems to strengthen that desire. Spoilers for season 2 claim that Jane will finally choose between Michael and Rafael. But the upcoming season will also show another couple getting married.

According to "Jane the Virgin's" executive producer Jennie Urman, an unexpected couple will get married in the fifth episode. This will also be the first wedding for the series in season 2.

In another news, lead star and award-winning actress Gina Rodriguez recently spoke out against the bullies on social media through her Instagram account after several bashers criticized her look for the People en Espanol cover. Her lengthy message reminded her followers that social media should not be used for hating, and she strongly refused to be a participant in the ongoing negative practice that is fast becoming rampant nowadays.

"Before you write a comment today on anyone's picture or anyone's page ask yourself would you want others to say that about yourself?" Rodriguez asked in her post
