Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) and Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) may always be at loggerheads with each other, but they both love Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) enough to come together in tracking down the mysterious woman who kidnapped her baby.

In "Chapter Thirty-Two," TV Guide reports that the two men will temporarily forget their indifferences in the face of a new clue to Sin Rostro's whereabouts. In the past, Rafael and Michael share a bitter rivalry on winning Jane's heart. The former was the lady's ex-fiancĂ©, but things did not work out when she became pregnant. When Mateo was born, Rafael became a central figure in her life, helping her in taking care of the baby, while Michael was forced to keep his distance.

When Rafael became convinced that Jane still has feelings for the other man, he devised a plan that would get Michael fired from his job. They had an altercation, where Mateo got hurt. Jane was so angry at them, so Michael decided that she would better be off without his presence for a while. Instead, he focused on tracking down Mateo's abductor. Before the midseason finale, the trail led to a woman named Mutter, whom he had reasons to believe was Luisa Alver's (Yara Martinez) mother. When he got to the place where she was purportedly hiding, the drug lord had already scampered.

In the upcoming episode, Rafael will swallow his pride and approach Michael with new information about Mutter. This will come at the most opportune time, as the trail to Rostro has been getting cold. With Rafael finally acknowledging Michael's expertise in detective work, will this also signal his acceptance that the other is the better man for Jane? Baldoni told Hollywood Life that his character and Jane would be "adding some distance" between them. That is not to say, however, that Rafael has already given up.

"I don't know all the details, but I know Rafael loves Jane. I don't think he's ever loved anybody the way that he loves Jane, and I think that's going to be something we continue to see throughout the series. There's not anybody that's ever been a Jane in Rafael's life," he said.

"Jane the Virgin" season 2 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
