Meanwhile, TVLine revealed that "Young and the Restless" star Miles Gaston Villanueva has been tapped to portray the role of Sam, Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) old crush. According to the character description, "Sam's past connection to Jane has a surprising impact on the present." Does it mean that he could cause trouble in Jane and Michael's (Brett Dier) marriage, as well as her relationship with her baby daddy Rafael (Justin Baldoni)?

Meanwhile, fans of the series are also looking forward to seeing Jane finally lose the "virgin" moniker in the third installment of the series. But according to showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman, the fateful event will not be featured in the season premiere or finale.

"I always had it in my mind that I didn't want her to lose her virginity in a season premiere or a season finale," Urman said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly after the airing of season 2 finale. "That's not what the show is inherently about. It made me feel icky that we'd [build to how] this interesting and passionate smart woman lost her virginity. But it will happen, and it will be happening pretty soon. I just didn't want it to be in the finale."

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 premieres on The CW on Monday, Oct. 17.
