Jane, the central character of The CW Network's Jane the Virgin, finally loses her virginity this season. Executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman spilled the beans to ET at the ATX TV Festival in Texas, saying "She'll lose her virginity this year for sure."

The new season will premiere on The CW Network on the 17th of October this year. During the second season, we saw Jane wed Michael. However, in the final episode of season 2, Michael was shot right when Jane was preparing herself to consummate their relationship. The upcoming season will pick up right where the last one left off, getting right down to the fate of Jane's husband.

Brett Dier, who portrays Michael on the small screen, reassured fans that he continues to be part of the series. This means Michael survives. However, as Game & Guide speculates, it remains to be seen if Jane loses her virginity to her newly wedded husband, or to Rafael, who continues to be in love with her, as the season finale revealed.

Parent Herald goes on to add more hints and spoilers, stating that the show's producer hinted at a change in the dynamics of Jane's relationship with her husband, as an aftermath of the ordeal. While the first season dealt with pregnancy, and the second one tackled the concept of motherhood, season 3 will be a period growing up, according to Urman. In fact, the whole act of Jane losing her virginity will only be a cornerstone in the whole lot of evolution that the titular character goes through.

On a lighter note, after Jane 'does it' this season, the show's title will have the words 'the virgin' crossed off. So the title cards will continue to say 'Jane the virgin,' and the last two words will probably have a strikethrough each time a new episode airs.
