"Jane the Virgin" has turned out to be one of the most popular shows on The CW.

The finale of the show's Season 2 was quite a heartbreaker. Our much-loved Jane had just gotten married to Detective Michael Cordero, played by Brett Dier. But before they could get down to 'doing it,' Michael was shot. And that's where the season ended, giving us a cliffhanger that's been driving fans crazy with one question, "Will Michael survive?"

Now, it seems like we finally have an answer. A photo of the cast at the first table read of the new season was posted on Twitter by the show's writers. And guess what? Brett Dier seems to be a part of the team, too. Does this mean that he's got a role to play in the upcoming season? And more importantly, is Michael coming back after the attack? We'll have to wait until the 17th of October this year to find out, because that's when the first episode of Season 3 is set to premiere on The CW.

As for whether we have any official news about Michael's survival, show creator Jennie Snyder Urman told Entertainment Weekly, "You're going to have to wait until the third season to find out. You'll find out right when we get back within the first act."

Meanwhile, another thing fans are curious about is whether Jane will finally lose her virginity this season. Speculations suggest that in one of the upcoming episodes, this might come to pass. Regarding her decision to leave Jane a virgin at the end of last season, Urman stated, "I always had it in my mind that I didn't want her to lose her virginity in a season premiere or a season finale. That's not what the show is inherently about. It made me feel icky that we'd [build to how] this interesting and passionate smart woman lost her virginity. But it will happen, and it will be happening pretty soon. I just didn't want it to be in the finale."
