The highly anticipated moment in Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) life after her tear-jerking wedding with Michael (Brett Dier) did not end the way fans were expecting it to be. But according to "Jane the Virgin" executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman, the virgin mother of Mateo will finally lose her virginity in season 3.

Speaking with ET during the ATX TV Festival in Austin, TX, Snyder Urman confirmed that Jane will no longer have to hold on to her title in the upcoming season. "She'll lose her virginity this year for sure," the executive producer said.

But Snyder Urman clarified that the much awaited moment will not be featured in season 3's premiere or finale episodes.

"To me, it feels like it puts too much pressure on it, and that isn't what the show is about at its core. I just wanted to put that moment in the show, but not build to fireworks," she said.

While the series is still on its regular season hiatus, fans of the show continue to wonder whether Michael survived the gunshot that he incurred during his wedding night with Jane. But if he will not be fortunate enough to live in the upcoming season, will it mean that Jane will lose her virginity to the father of her son, Rafael (Justin Baldoni), instead?

Meanwhile, Rodriguez revealed that fans continue to connect with her to give tips about sexuality as she continues to hold onto her virginity in the series.

According to the actress, viewers of the show constantly give her their insights and advice because of her role.

The actress shared with The Hollywood Reporter during the recently concluded Comedy Actress Roundtable: "What I get is people desiring to tell me their specific sexual orientation, or if they're currently having sex, or if they're themselves a virgin."

She also revealed that she started to constantly check her own moral beliefs to compare them with her character's very high moral standard.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 17, on The CW.
