"Jane the Virgin" season 3 is about to shake things up for the titular character, played by Gina Rodriguez, as series creator Jennie Snyder Urman confirms that Jane is going to lose her virginity although it is uncertain as to whom she is going to get intimate with.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Jane has been going back and forth between two men throughout the first two seasons. She has been going through an off-and-on relationship with her fiancé, Michael (Brett Dier), but has also gotten involved with Rafael (Justin Baldoni), the man whose donated sperm was used to get Jane pregnant.

Fans have speculated that Michael will be the lucky one to claim Jane's virginity in season 3, but during the season 2 finale, he was shot, and it is possible he will die and never get to seal the deal with Jane. It is also possible that he will survive, given that a report from Hollywood Life points out that the actor has been seen on set.

If the latter proves true then it is possible she will lose her virginity to Rafael. However, Urman also teases that someone from her past, prior to her meeting Michael, will be making his appearance in season 3, and this mysterious third person might be the one to claim her virginity.

"She does lose her virginity this year," Urman explained and then adds: "It's in the first half of the season, and it's quite a big episode for us. There's obviously a lot of tension and question marks over that. You'll meet someone from Jane's past, before she met Michael."

In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, Urman also explained that Jane's extended family, particularly the relatives of Jane's grandmother, Alba (Ivonne Col), would be introduced in season 3 to further add drama to the already complicated life of the main character.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. on The CW.
