It was recently revealed that the cast members of The CW television hit series, "Jane the Virgin," are not in the loop when it comes to the plot of the show. This is an unorthodox practice in the entertainment industry, since cast members, especially the ones who play major roles, are given scripts ahead of time to rehearse. However, in a recent interview, Jaime Camil, who plays Rogelio De La Vega, admitted to not being privy to the show's storyline twists.

In an interview with Metro, Camil revealed that after a major plot line is revealed in the show, everyone is as shocked as the audience. The 44-year-old Mexican actor alluded to a "trust circle" that the show's producer Jennie Urman, apparently. has — and none of the cast members are included in that circle. The main protagonist of the show, Gina Rodriguez, who plays Jane Villanueva, is as clueless as the rest of the cast members.

As it turns out, the story of the show is kept hidden from the cast members for as long as possible, which means up to the point the production crew finally shoots the shocking scenes. During the interview, one of the plot twists that was mentioned involved the true identity of the cunning and mysterious Sin Rostro which was revealed way back in season 1. It was the first time that the cast members felt what being kept in the dark was like.

With four seasons under its belt, it is safe to assume that the cast is now used to this approach in creating the show.

During the midseason finale of season 4, fans saw the progressing relationship of Rogelio and Rafael Solano, who is played by Justin Baldoni. This is a rather surprising development, given Rogelio's close relationship with Jane's ex-husband Michael Cordero Jr., who is played by Brett Dier. This case was one of the very few times when the cast was notified one month ahead so that they could prepare for the character's imminent death.

After being cold toward Rafael, the midseason finale suggests that it could actually be possible for Rogelio to warm up to his daughter's new love interest.

"Jane the Virgin" season 4 airs every Friday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
