Dan Haseltine, Jars of Clay frontman, is resting at home after undergoing medical treatment.

The band tweeted that Dan had undergone a "procedure to correct a coronary issue after experiencing a cardiac event".

Dan also tweeted after the treatment: "Heading home. Reading thru the notes from friends, family and fan ... Overwhelming. I'm truly a rich man."

The band said their lead singer was doing well following the procedure, although the band won't make it to this year's Soulfest in Gilford, New Hampshire.

"Soulfest is one of our favourite and most encouraging festivals of the year and we apologise to all of our fans who are coming out to the festival, we will miss having the experience with you all this year," they said.

Jars of Clay are still set to go ahead with their autumn tour, which will feature special guests Sleeping at Last and Mariah McManus.

The band said: "We are looking forward to our fall tour and can't tell you how excited we are about the 11th studio album we are finishing work on, which will be out early in 2013."
