'Jason Bourne' news: Action-packed trailer released

Universal Pictures

Jason Bourne is back, and he is ready to cause a lot of trouble in the latest installment from the "Bourne" film franchise.

Universal Pictures released that first full-length trailer for the movie "Jason Bourne," which will feature the return of Matt Damon in the titular role.

In the trailer, which spans almost two minutes and thirty seconds, Bourne appears to have remembered who he is after disappearing at the end of "The Bourne Ultimatum" and being aided by former Operation Treadstone technician Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles) as he attempted to hide from the CIA. However, Parsons reminds him that "Remembering everything doesn't mean you know everything."

But the CIA does not seem happy with Bourne's return. He is first spotted by a new CIA agent portrayed by "Ex Machina" star Alicia Vikander during a chaotic Greek demonstration. It is immediately reported to CIA director Robert Dewey, portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones, who questions Bourne's intention in returning. Dewey seems to know a lot about Bourne and the Operation Treadstone.

The CIA will also have to deal with a widespread hacking incident, which "could be worse than Snowden." Can the agency deal with it while dealing with Bourne at the same time?

The trailer also shows a lot of explosive and action-packed scenes, complete with high-speed European motorcycle chases at night. Bourne is also seen having a hand-to-hand combat in the desert, which he wins with a single elbow punch.

"Black Swan" star Vincent Cassel will also appear in the film, and he seems to be the bad guy who intends to kill Bourne at all cost. "Vinyl" actor Ato Essandoh also signed up for a role in the movie.

"Jason Bourne," directed by Paul Greengrass, is scheduled to premiere on July 29, 2016.
