Jeff Hardy returning to WWE rumors: Injuries dictate high flyer's future

Jeff Hardy is best known for his colorful strands of hair and, of course, his death-defying stunts both as an individual and a tag-team partner. He and brother Matt Hardy made big strides during their World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) regime, feuding with popular tag teams such as The Dudley Boyz who have now become a regular fixture in the WWE.

Right now, Hardy is tied up with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, but his contract is expected to end soon. So what is up next?

Hardy cannot do much right now as he tries to recover from a left knee injury which he incurred via dirt bike accident back in April. Apparently, complications on the reading of his injury have kept him out longer than expected and his stability has been an issue.

Hardy says via WOOOOO! Nation with Ric Flair that it may take him up to nine months to recover from the mishap, although he does intend to return to wrestling with a brace to support it. It may seem high risk if he does push through with his plans, but the fact is Hardy has been known to defy the odds and undergo the craziest of alternatives.

If he does push through with it, it may require a change in style. That could include seeing less of his high-flying maneuvers, at least until he gets his knee back into shape.

So with that on the table and his contract ending soon, would he entertain a return to the WWE scene?

Apparently, Hardy has that in mind. Along with brother Matt, he sees a huge possibility of them returning to the WWE, though he cannot really say when.

He feels that The Hardy Boyz could have a couple of matches with the The Dudley Boyz, calling to mind all those years when the two battled hardcore, which made the "Tables, Ladders and Chairs" matches that have been carried on to this day.

For himself, a fitting end to his career would be to wrestle at two WWE pay-per-views (PPVs) — WWE Hell in a Cell and a WrestleMania main event. So the only question now is when it could happen and if the WWE would be interested in bringing back The Hardy Boyz to the WWE scene.
