Jeremy Lin news: NBA star posts his prayer requests for brothers

3rd Annual Fan Appreciation WeekTwitter/JeremyLin

Jeremy Lin's third annual Fan Appreciation Week is still ongoing and the NBA star has posted the schedule of events via Twitter. For the last day, Aug. 20, fans of the basketball star can join in on the Instagram Video Contest. There is also a Facebook Q&A for Aug. 19. Previous events this week included a Twitter Multiple Choice Quiz as well as a Facebook Meme Contest.

The NBA star recently arrived from a tour in Asia and has updated his prayer requests on his official website. The list is only available to subscribers but the registration is free and can be found here.

Lin requests his fans to pray for him to help establish strong chemistry with his new coach Steve Clifford and with his new teammates in the Charlotte Hornets. He was recently signed on to the Hornets this July with a $4 million contract which binds him to the team for two years.

He also asks for prayers for his younger brother who has just started his career as a professional basketball player back in Taiwan. He specifically asks his fans to pray that his brother doesn't stray from God no matter the amount of success or failure he may encounter throughout his career.

His other prayer requests also include his older brother.

"Prayer for my older brother as he begins his dental pediatrics residency, that he would transition smoothly and find great purpose in glorifying Christ through dentistry," he said. "I just feel very strongly about this, so I just want my last bullet point to be a praise to God for giving me an army of prayer warriors (you guys)!!"

Lin was previously signed on to the Rockets before he became a free agent. There were rumors that the Mavericks were looking to hire him as a point-guard, alongside DeAndre Jordan and Wesley Matthews but the deal fell apart. Lin was later approached by the Hornets and offered him a contract.
