A lot of fans are curious about the next villain Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter) will face in the new season of the Marvel show. After all, Kilgrave (played by David Tenant) is already dead, and as such it makes people wonder what kind of villain will show up to top his performance in the first season of "Jessica Jones."

According to Game N Guide, Melissa Rosenburg — the showrunner of the series — recently had an interview with Esquire to talk about the future of the show, which primarily tackles the resulting trauma the protagonist is undergoing despite the fact that Kilgrave is already dead and can no longer harm her.

Rosenburg even went so far as to explain that even before Kilgrave's appearance, Jessica Jones was already messed up, and as such, the second season of the show will definitely show how she will be able to move on from the whole incident.

She gave a comparison in a normal scenario where people just do not heal even if the source of their trauma has already been taken care of. Hence, Jessica Jones's trauma will be a huge part of her life from now on.

As for the new villain, Rosenburg is still adamant on being silent about the matter, since she does not want to ruin a perfectly good surprise. However, ScreenRant reveals that it could be possible for the new season to feature multiple villains. One of them is speculated to be Will Simpson (played by Wil Traval), aka Nuke.

After all, Will's fate is not yet set in stone back in the first season so it is possible that his backstory will be further revealed in the upcoming new season. Regardless, all will be settled once the new season of "Jessica Jones" is aired, with 2017 as the earliest possible date for its premiere.
