Fans of the highly popular superhero television series "Marvel's Jessica Jones" were, of course, delighted when Netflix finally gave the show's second season the green light for production. However, it may still be a while before fans find out what happens next in the life of the superhuman heroine, as several other shows within the same Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are still in the pipeline.

Despite this fact, reports are now revealing brand new details about the show and its possible storyline.

A lot of new information was apparently revealed about the show's new season at the recently held Transforming Hollywood symposium of diversity by the series' showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. The showrunner had mentioned that they actually signed up an all-female group of directors to work on all 13-episodes of the new season.

Rosenberg also revealed that they had recruited "The Returned" writer Raelle Tucker to be part of "Jessica Jones" season 2. "I'm thrilled to have someone as talented as Raelle join our team as writer and executive producer as we delve into Jessica's continued story," Rosenberg mentioned.

With the backing of a stellar cast of directors, fans are now looking forward to an even more exciting new season which will also apparently be focusing on the show's other characters. Rosenberg had revealed this to be the case during an interview with Deadline back in November last year.

The showrunner explained that the next season will be expanding on the ensemble as much as it would be focusing on Jessica, played by Krysten Ritter. For the next season, fans should apparently also expect the same Jessica that they saw on the first season. The character will still be a person who is damaged, but Jessica has also changed in some way because of her experiences.

As of the moment, there is currently still no fixed release date for "Jessica Jones" season 2 as several other shows — including "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist," and "The Defenders" — have to run their course.

Several reports, however, have claimed that the new season would likely be coming out sometime in late 2018.
