The return of Netflix original series, Marvel's "Jessica Jones," for its second season will be filled with new faces and an unfamiliar storyline. The show's titular character has also been rumored to have a new love interest, although Jessica (Krysten Ritter) still seems to be trapped by her troubled past. For one, the latest first look photos for season 2 reveal that Jessica will be dealing with the first chapter's menacing villain, Kilgrave (David Tennent).

Entertainment Weekly provided the first promotional images for the upcoming Marvel's "Jessica Jones" season 2. Among all the official pictures, the fans were easily intrigued by Jessica's shot on a street corner, where she is seen standing beside Kilgrave. It appears that Kilgrave is not amused seeing Jessica, while the latter's face shows how uncomfortable she is with this unwanted reunion.

According to Comic Book, the season 1 finale of "Jessica Jones" pretty much proved that Kilgrave is dead after snapping his neck. Nevertheless, with the way things work in Marvel's shared universe, there could be a lot of ways for Kilgrave's men to resurrect their master. If this scene is not about the villain actually coming back from the grave, perhaps Jessica is only hallucinating about Kilgrave. Earlier set photos showing the character already suggested that Tennant's stint in season 2 will only happen inside Jessica's head.

In an interview with "Jessica Jones" showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, the director revealed that the effect of Kilgrave in Jessica's life will continue well into season 2. Even if the villain is already dead, Kilgrave will still be a driving force in every move that Jessica will make in the future. It is likely that the second season will introduce a new villain, but Kilgrave has already made his mark on Jessica.

On the other hand, Cinema Blend speculates that the first-look image in question could just show a flashback scene involving Jessica and Kilgrave. It is possible that the scene happened during those times that Jessica was still working for Kilgrave.

Netflix already confirmed that Marvel's "Jessica Jones" season 2 will arrive on March 8th, 2018. The premiere date of the second season is shown in the official trailer, which suggests that the upcoming story will tell more about the dark past of the series' heroine.
