After Netflix greenlighted a second season for DC's Jessica Jones, fans are already speculating which villain will be featured as the next season's big bad after Kilgrave was killed in the first season.

Some speculated that the show would be bringing back David Tennant's character after his performance drew such positive feedback from the show's viewers. However, the idea is looking less likely because it would be difficult to bring Kilgrave back from the dead.

Instead, it looks like Trish's investigation into the past of her boyfriend Will Simpson will reveal him to be the next villain whom the supernatural PI will have to face off. Will Simpson in the comic books is the villain known as Nuke, a former police officer whose extreme hatred for Kilgrave compels him to undergo a military program that enhanced his strength, but led him to become a murderer instead.

However, fans seem to be not too keen on the idea of Nuke being the main villain in the next season, something that showrunner Melissa Rosenberg was quick to consider.

In an interview, she hinted that because David Tennant set the bar so high in the first season, they are not adverse to the idea of featuring multiple villains in the upcoming season.

"Or antagonists, plural. No one is ever going to beat David Tennant as Kilgrave, so you don't do that. The biggest mistake would be to try to repeat that. You just go, "OK, we're not doing that, so we have this open to us," she said.

She also assured fans of the show who are worried over the delay in the filming  that even if production has not yet commenced, they are already in the process of developing the scripts for the episodes.

She also shared that the delay was due to several superhero shows being developed by Netflix like Luke Cage and Iron First which will later join Jessica Jones and Daredevil in the Defenders series, reported Screencrush.
