"Jessica Jones" season 2 is still in development as the main star, Krysten Ritter, is currently working on "The Defenders" wherein she will be starring alongside "Daredevil" star Charlie Cox. However, in an interview with ET Online, it was confirmed that the next season won't just be about Jessica Jones but also about her sister and family ties.

According to Rachael Taylor, who plays Jessica's adoptive sister Trish Walker, season 2 may dive deeper into the relationship Trish has with her sister and with their mother Dorothy (Rebecca De Mornay).

Back in season 1 it was shown that Dorothy was an abusive stage mom who used her own daughter for money and fame. When Dorothy adopted Jessica after the latter became an orphan it was only because she figured it would help boost Trish's popularity as a rising star.

However, when asked if she might don a costume and turn into Hellcat like her comic book counterpart, Taylor only gave a very light hint that did not confirm nor deny the possibility.

"I think there's so many layers to this character. One of the things I'm really looking forward to, aside from all of the potential martial arts or athleticism, is seeing her relationship with her mother unfold a little bit more," she explained. "There's lots to play with."

Fans of the comic books will recall that in the source material Hellcat is known as Patsy Walker and is a member of the Defenders and the Avengers but has no direct relation to Jessica Jones. Some of this has been played and altered for the Netflix live-action series but it is still unknown if Trish herself will become a crime-fighter like her sister.

"The Defenders" is expected to premiere by 2017 and "Jessica Jones" season 2 is speculated to premiere some time after that, alongside the first season of "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage."
