As stated in a report from the Hollywood Gossip, it has been a surprise to many that the TLC reality show "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" has been renewed for a second season. However, the report further points out that the most likely reason is the sudden announcement of Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo's engagement.

According to the report, filming for season 2 had begun before the announcement of the show's renewal became public and it is this engagement that is speculated to be the main cause. The second season is now rumored to focus primarily on the relationship of Jinger and Jeremy.

Jeremy, a former soccer player, explained in a report from People that he met Jinger through Jessa and her husband Ben back in May last year. Jeremy did visit the family house in Arkansas and asked Jim Bob Duggar for permission to court Jinger last December 2015 and they have been getting to know each other more ever since. 

However, despite the fact that Jeremy and Jinger went through the only accepted form of dating in the Duggar family, which is formal courtship and meetings with the family, many family supporters are reportedly enraged by some of the visuals teased in the first teaser trailer for "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" season 2.

According to the report, the main issue is that Jeremy and Jinger are shown hugging each other from the front yet the Duggar family is notorious for only allowing non-married couples to hug from the side. Many conservative fans have reportedly shown their distaste in this. 

It is undetermined just how many episodes season 2 will have but it is likely going to cover the entire courtship period between Jinger and Jeremy and may even reach the point of their wedding, particularly if the wedding takes place soon before production for season 2 ends. 

"Jill and Jessa: Counting On" season 2, which will see Jeremy and Jinger appear together, will premiere on Aug. 23.
