Jodi Arias' appeal to present her testimony away from the public eye had been denied by the Arizona Supreme Court on Tuesday, as her retrial drags on to determine the type of punishment that will be given to her after being declared guilty of killing her then-boyfriend Travis Alexander.

The new ruling strengthens the court's earlier decision to bar Arias from saying her testimony in secret that was released back in November.

Arias earlier petitioned to say her piece in private to defend her action that led to Alexander's death in 2008. The convicted murderer believes that she cannot explain properly why her life should be spared after she killed her boyfriend in his own home in Mesa, Arizona.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens earlier decided to hold the closed door testimony and barred the press and the public to hear the statement of an anonymous witness, but The Arizona Republic as well as other media outfits appealed the decision.

Now, the media block won the case when the appeal was made in their favor after the highest court of the state denied the petition posted by Arias and her legal team for review without comment.

The Travis Alexander Murder case is one of the most talked about courtroom battle in Arizona in 2013, after the former salesman was brutally stabbed and shot in the head by Arias.

The first set of jurors found Arias guilty of first degree murder on May 8, 2013, but they failed to give a unanimous decision. That is why a second set of jury was called for to determine the proper penalty for her.

Arias' defense team is trying to eliminate the death penalty option to save her life but the prosecutors are showing evidences of why Alexander's murderer deserves the highest punishment in the long-running real life legal saga.
