The much awaited rematch between the two celebrated rivals Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones has taken another big step with word that the fight will likely be held this coming April.

The reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion is looking for payback while Bones wants his title back after technically not losing it last year.

Jones was stripped of the title after getting involved in a hit-and-run incident in April which led to his arrest. The UFC title landed on Cormier's lap when he fended off Anthony Johnson at UFC 187.

As it is turning out, both have a score to settle and it is for different reasons. But other than that, both have been known to be bitter rivals, adding more color to the upcoming bout.

Jones seems to be ready and is bigger than the first time the two met. Jones won via unanimous decision over Cormier in January 2015 and was the last fight which he actually had.

On the other hand, Cormier has since rebounded from that loss. Cormier last fought in October when he won via split decision over Alexander Gustaffson at UFC 192. The performance did not impress many so Cormier may have to work double time if he is to avenge his loss to 'Bones'.

Despite being away from UFC action, Cormier believes that such will not affect Jones that much. He does, however, add that he has something new to offer against Jones, something he calls the difference maker when they do meet.

While the anticipation grows, the important thing right now is when and where the fight will take place.

New York City was the original place in mind but a federal judge nixed the UFC's plans to stage the event there. Right now, there is no hint of which area the UFC is targeting, although that could follow in the coming weeks.
