Jose Aldo and Connor McGregor apparently despise each other and when the Brazilian was asked on his thoughts of McGregor's last fight against Chad Mendes at UFC 189, his response was far from surprising.

"Not really. It was a good fight to watch. It's exactly what I expected" says Aldo when he recently appeared at UFC Tonight.

It will be recalled that Aldo was forced to pull out of his set tiff with McGregor due to an injured rib he sustained during training. Chad Mendes was called to replace Aldo but had little time to train due to short notice.

While Mendes did make a good account of himself against McGregor, a risky maneuver proved costly thus allowing McGregor to escape with the win and the interim UFC Featherweight title.

McGregor's camp would later on reveal that the Irishman fought with an injury as well, his knees. With that revealed, McGregor's brash talk against Aldo somehow became justified since the Irishman took the risk and did not reveal the real score on the state of his knee.

Aldo says that he is a lot better now and promises to hand McGregor a sound beating when they do meet up. There is no official word yet on when the two fighters will face off though there are plans for the two to meet up before 2015 ends.

"I've already returned to practice. Now, it's just time to wait for the UFC to set the fight [with McGregor], says Aldo in an interview with Fox Sports.

Tentative plans have it that Aldo and McGregor could be facing each other at UFC 194 slated for December 5, 2015. The event will be held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Unless another injury to either fighters happens in the next couple of months, the tiff should be something to watch, once confirmed.
