Josh and Anna Duggar reveal why they named their newborn Meredith Grace

All of Josh and Anna Duggar's kids have names that start with the letter "M," and their newest daughter Meredith Grace is no exception. In fact, the couple's fourth child has been named after a television personality—NBC Today's Meredith Viera.

"Did your see our post announcing the birth of Meredith Grace Duggar? She's here, and she's beautiful," the family said in the Duggar Family Blog.

Josh and Anna also revealed that one month before their first child Mackynzie was born, Viera requested them to name their first child after her. "Obviously I would love that," said Vieira. "It would make me a very happy person."

But during that time, Josh and Anna really had their hearts set on naming their daughter Mackynzie, so they told Viera that they might just use the name Meredith for their future daughter. "There is hope for 'Meredith' still," Josh said in an interview.

But their next two kids were boys, and Josh and Anna named them Michael and Marcus. For baby number four and Duggar grandbaby number five, they finally granted Viera's wish and gave the baby her namesake.

The family announced the arrival of baby Meredith on their Facebook page by sharing several pictures of her and her parents. "She's here! Meredith Grace Duggar: 7lbs 14ozs, 20-1/2" long. Anna and baby Meredith are resting and doing well—thanks for all of your prayers! We will try to post more photos as soon as possible!" the family said.

The post has received over 142,000 likes already, and Josh and Anna have been swamped by kind words and congratulations, with a lot of people commenting just how much Meredith looks like her elder sister Mackynzie.
