After going through a lot of controversies in the past year, Josh Duggar reportedly wants to go back to the limelight.

Rumors claim that the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar wants to be seen on TV again after numerous scandals shook him and his family in 2015. These led to the cancellation of their long-running reality show on TLC.

Josh was involved in a child molestation scandal that involved five young women, including four of his younger sisters, when he was 14 and 15 years old.

Then he was once again caught in the middle of another scandal when the public found out that he had multiple Ashley Madison accounts when the infidelity website was hacked in August 2015. He also admitted that he cheated on his wife, Anna, several times while she was pregnant with their fourth child, and he confessed about being a sex addict. He turned himself into a rehabilitation treatment shortly after the scandals broke out.

But a source reportedly told InTouch Weekly that Josh intends to go back to TV so he can start earning again.

According to the source, the joint statement released by Josh and Anna on the family's official website in May regarding the current state of their marriage was a calculated move so that the eldest Duggar child can get the public's interest again and eventually go back to television.

"This is a ploy by Josh to get back onto TV. He's hoping this will show everyone he's taken real steps to deal with his problems," the source reportedly close to Josh told InTouch Weekly for the magazine's June 13 print edition. "Josh is realizing that his father, Jim Bob, can't keep supporting him financially for the rest of his life."

But reports are claiming that TLC is no longer interested in renewing his sisters Jill Duggar-Dillard and Jessa Duggar-Seewald's spin-off series "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" for another season. If it's true, Josh's plans to return on screen may no longer happen.

TLC has yet to comment regarding this issue.
