NFL Player Josh Norman Offers Donations to Hometown Churches That Need Help

As the season to be jolly draws near, the highest-paid cornerback of the National Football League (NFL), Josh Norman of the Washington Redskins, has decided to contribute significantly to a good cause. What Norman aims to do is to rally his churches in Greenwood, South Carolina, to let him know exactly what he can do to give back to his hometown community.

In a report by CBN News, Norman released a full-page advertisement addressing churches to inform him about what the community needs in order to help the young ones have better opportunities in their lives. In the ad, Norman stated that he was touched by God, and had an epiphany to help the people of his hometown by "reaching out and touching every church in Greenwood."

This is quite a generous offer, especially since there are numerous religious congregations in Greenwood. However, Norman did express his intentions of sharing his blessings, especially since he is, after all, the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. According to Index Journal, upon discovering Norman's charitable ad, numerous people took to social media to give positive feedback about what the Washington Redskins member is attempting to do.

Some could possibly argue that this charitable cause is a major publicity stunt to bolster the ratings of the NFL, as well as the recent controversies in the wake of the incident wherein Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the National Anthem. However, Norman further debunked these speculations, and stood firm in his stance that "it is something that God told me to do."

It may please some Redskins fans to know that Norman is not the only player who is planning to contribute to charitable causes. According to redskins.com, a select few of players will be auctioning off customized cleats, which is part of the "My Cause, My Cleats" by the NFL. The proceeds will then be forwarded to any charity of their choice through the Redskins Charitable Foundation.
