Once again, the action-thriller filled "Jurassic Park" franchise will come to the big screen as Colin Trevorrow passes on his directing role to J.A. Bayona, and according to certain reports, the "Jurassic World" successor will offer fans a "darker and scarier" feel.

The "Jurassic Park" franchise has gained the spotlight once again when Trevorrow released his rendition of the Steven Spielberg film. "Jurassic World" has become a successful blockbuster film that has now paved the way for a "Jurassic World" trilogy.

According to certain speculations, Trevorrow will solely be focusing on writing "Jurassic World 2's" plot, which he assures will be very different from previous installments of the "Jurassic World" franchise. Rumors suggest that the second installment of "Jurassic World" will deviate from typical chase scenes between the protagonist and blood seeking dinosaurs, especially since the "Jurassic World" sequel is now led by director Bayona.

According to Bayona, "Jurassic World 2" will also show the famed dinosaur park with animatronic and CGI dinosaurs. However, "Jurassic World 2" will be "darker and scarier than the previous film," he said in an interview with the Spanish language media outlet Agencia EFE.

Despite the promise of a darker "Jurassic World" rendition, fans can surely expect a hint of comedy, especially with leading man Chris Pratt. Bayona also hinted that "Jurassic World 2" will be full of surprises that "people are not expecting," and "really are shocking."

On another note, "Jurassic World 2" writer and producer Trevorrow hinted that the sequel will delve into animal abuse by portraying dinosaurs as a parable of what today's animals encounter in reality. "The dinosaurs will be a parable of the treatment animals receive today: the abuse, medical experimentation, pets, having wild animals in zoos like prisons, the use the military has made of them, animals as weapons," he said.

"Jurassic World 2" is said to start production in both Hawaii and London in February 2017, which lead fans to suspect that the movie will be out on the big screen on June 22, 2018.
